Monthly Highlight

Thank you, SMCF!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the San Marcos Community Foundation again for their generous donation of $1673 towards the purchase of a touchpad! Raising funds for new touchpads is part of our efforts to have enough working touchpads so we can host meets at Palomar Pool in the future. This touchpad will be arriving in the next month and we can’t wait to use it at a future meet!

JBST All Ages NTS (Long Course)
We had 22 swimmers attend the only no time standard long course meet and we couldn’t be prouder! The 50M pool is intimidating, but our swimmers came ready to swim. It was a competitive group, but Zachary B., Chloe, Veannaka, Emma, Zee, Alexander, and Ella placed top 8 in one or more of their events. For Karla, Marcus, James, Pax, Ella, Zachary I., Annie, Adelyne, and Haydon, this was their first experience swimming long course. Way to go, swimmers!

Long Course Age Group Championships
Every year, our Local Swim Committee, San DIego-Imperial Swimming, hosts the Long Course Age Group Championships. Swimmers qualify by swimming at or faster than their age group standards and this year we had twelve swimmers attend: Zachary B, Chloe C, Veannaka, Maylis, Mikaela, Emma, Erin, Alexander, Tayla, Tiana, Lucy, and Ella Z. Eight of our swimmers made finals with Zachary, Chloe, Veannaka, Maylis, Mikaela, Emma, Tiana, and Tayla placing in the top 8 and earning medals. Our 10U girls relay team with Chloe, Maylis, Erin, and Lucy also did an amazing job and placed 4th in the 200M Freestyle relay. Overall, ICAC placed 11th out of 23 teams. Great work, ICAC! Also, a shout out and huge thank you to Coach John for coaching our team during the long 4-day event. We couldn’t have swam fast without you!

Futures

From July 23-26, Kiana from our senior group competed with some of the best swimmers at the Futures meet in Sacramento. In order to qualify, swimmers must have a minimum of one time cut in any event with the opportunity to swim additional bonus events. Kiana is a distance swimmers and swam the 800M Freestyle, 400M freestyle, and 1500M freestyle. She placed 18th out 26 swimmers in the 800M Free; she qualified for finals in the 400M Free by placing in the top 32 and placed 23rd at finals; lastly, she dropped nearly a minute in her 1500M Free and placed 12th out of 17 swimmers. We are so proud of you, Kiana, and all of your accomplishments! Way to go!

Dual Meets
Great job to all of our swimmers who battled it out with Renegade, Fallbrook, and Loma Santa Fe. You all did an awesome job and it was fun watching all of the events and relays! For some of our swimmers, this was the first time ever competing in a meet. Congratulations! We hope to see you again at a future meet this coming fall! Check out our meet calendar on our website. The Summer Swim League Championship will be this Saturday, August 16th, at the Rising Stars 3 meet in Fallbrook. Good luck, swimmers! Swim fast!
