Annual Reminder

Rain or Shine, It's Swim Time!
While we’ve had some good storms these past few weeks, that hasn’t put a damper on our swimmer’s spirits! This is the annual reminder that we will still have swim practice even if it rains (unless there is lightning within 10 miles). The pool is heated throughout the winter (roughly 80-82*) which is perfect for working out. After practice, make sure they take a warm shower and have a parka available!

Meet Highlights

14U Pentathlon
Four of our swimmers attended the Pentathlon where they competed in 5 events (50yd or 100yd for Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle; 100yd or 200yd in the Individual Medley) for points and placement. Two of our swimmers earned trophies with Veannaka coming in 2nd Place for the 14yo Girls and Zachary B. coming in 7th place for the 10yo Boys. Congratulations!

CAST Senior Meet
Four of our seniors attended this meet and performed very well. Veannaka earned 1st place in the 200 Breast and 1000 Free; Tayla came in 3rd in the 200 Fly; Stefano dropped time in his 100 Back and 200 IM; and Ella dropped time in the 200 Breast. Way to go, ICAC Seniors!

RSD BC All Ages
This was a fun meet with 21 of our swimmers attending between the two days. While we had some veteran swimmers competing, most were swimming new events for the first time. For Olivia, Kaia, Teagan, and Aria, this was their first time competing and all four did an awesome job! We are so proud of our swimmers and how much they’ve grown!

JBST A/BB All Ages
The A/BB or BB+ meets are designed for faster swimmers in our Age Group and Senior programs. This meet, we had seven swimmers attend between both days. Veannaka and Emma both placed in their events with Veannaka earning 1st in the 1000 Free and 2nd in the 200 Breast. Emma placed 2nd in both the 400 IM and 200 Fly. Way to go, ICAC swimmers!

ICAC Rising Stars 1
We had 35 swimmers attend our first home meet in over five years and we are so proud! So many of our swimmers earned 1st place in their heats and/or events. Congratulations to Free, Hudson, Olivia H., and Chloe P. for competing in their first meet! And way to go to Relay Team A (Darcey, Abbie, Luca, & Zachary I.) for earning 1st and Relay Team B (Maya, Olivia, Pierce, & Cillian) for earning 2nd in the 10&U Mixed 100yd Relay!

SDSA All Ages NTS
The foggy mornings didn’t deter our swimmers! Eighteen swimmers came out to race and the highlight this meet was multiple swimmers in the long distance events! We had 8 swimmers in the 500yd Free on Saturday with Marcus, Harry, and Haydon swimming it for the first time. Sunday finished off with Ella swimming the 1000yd Free for the first time. Way to go everyone who came out, swam, and cheered their teammates on!

Legends of Coaching
This competitive meet had over seventy teams from around the Western US and ICAC brought our best seniors: Kiana, Abby, and Veannaka. Kiana, a long-distance swimmer, competed and did well in the 200yd Free, 1000yd Free, and 1650ys Free (mile). Abby raced in a variety of events throughout the weekend: 500yd Free, 50yd Free, 200yd Free, 100yd Back, 200yd Back, and 100yd Free. This was Veannaka’s first time competing at this meet and she swam in the 200yd IM, 200yd Free, and 200yd Breast. Great job, ladies!
